The Full Story
What is Shilajit
In the world's most remote and majestic mountain ranges, a remarkable transformation takes place over decades. Organic biological matter, nurtured by the pristine heights and unique atmospheric conditions, becomes the extraordinary substance known as shilajit. This wonder of nature is a powerhouse of nutrients, natural elements, and biologically active organic substances, carefully crafted into the exclusive ancient super nutrient - AFGHANO Shilajit.
Gathered from the hidden crevices of these mountains, the raw material undergoes a meticulous purification process before being transformed into artisanal shilajit resin, adhering to the highest standards of quality. While in Western cultures, it's often referred to as mineral pitch, shilajit goes by many names across the globe, including mumie, moomiyo, and mumio. Its healing properties have been revered for centuries, particularly in Ayurveda, where it's celebrated as a "conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness."

Shilajit's rich history spans over 3,000 years, with its first documented use found in ancient Indian texts. It was considered a panacea, a remedy for various ailments, and a source of rejuvenation. Today, this unique and valuable substance continues to be cherished, with Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, nestled in the Pamir mountain range, renowned for producing some of the world's highest-quality shilajit. As we explore the depths of this ancient super nutrient, we unlock its secrets, discovering a treasure trove of wellness and vitality waiting to be embraced.
In today's market, shilajit has found its place as a popular dietary supplement. However, its true potential for promoting holistic well-being often falls victim to exploitation. Regrettably, many in the industry fail to grasp the essence of this remarkable substance, and only a handful truly understand how to harness its full spectrum of benefits.
Shilajit's versatility extends to the realm of modern alternative medicine, drawing inspiration from its ancient roots where it was revered as a universal remedy. It even finds its way into the world of culinary innovation, serving as an additive in various food products. Yet, it's crucial to recognize that the quality of shilajit available can vary significantly, ranging from premium-grade to disappointingly ineffective.
Unveiling Shilajit:
Shilajit, a truly rare treasure, is not easily accessible. To obtain genuine, 100% shilajit resin, one must turn to specific rocks that cradle this extraordinary substance, known as mineral pitch. Within these rocks lie traces of organic matter, primarily sourced from medicinal and adaptogenic plants, rich in essential amino acids. But the magic of shilajit isn't an everyday occurrence; it's the result of a remarkable alchemy.
Certain conditions must align for the formation of shilajit with its valuable properties. These factors include precise air pressure, temperature ranges, mineral-rich soil, elevated mountain terrains, and a distance from densely populated areas. Only within select regions of the world, such as Afghanistan, Caucasus, Altai, Himalayas, Siberia, and Mongolia, can these unique conditions converge.
Here, amidst nature's intricate dance, 'mumie rocks' are born, laying the foundation for the creation of 100% natural shilajit. It's a harmonious blend of environment and time, a rare gift from the Earth's embrace.

Crafting Pure Shilajit: Our Unveiled Purification Process
Shilajit has a rich history of use in Afghanistan, passed down through generations. Its most common applications in Afghanistan are for warmth during harsh winters when temperatures plummet to below 20 degrees in some regions, strengthening bones, healing fractures, boosting testosterone levels in men, and as a remedy for the flu. The people of Badakhshan, known for their mastery in purifying this intricate substance, have traditionally employed time-tested methods for shilajit purification.
While we have preserved these traditional techniques, we have also embraced technological advancements to refine our shilajit to a pristine 100% purity without compromising its mineral composition. Here's an overview of our purification process, although there are more intricate details not covered here.

Our Purification Method:
Step 1: Identifying Raw Material We commence by identifying the raw mineral pitch, known regionally as mumie or salajeet. Shilajit is typically found in rocky formations across mountainous regions of Pamir mountains of Badakhshan.
Step 2: Collecting Raw Material Once identified, we carefully collect the raw material, often by removing the external layers that contain impurities. These layers are shaved or grated off, revealing purer shilajit beneath, which is then washed with food-grade alcohol.
Step 3: Transport to a Controlled Environment The washed material is transported to a controlled environment, or clean room, where temperature is maintained below 48 degrees Celsius, and the air is continuously purified to eliminate environmental pollutants, microbes, and particles.
Step 4: Dissolution and Filtration Within the clean room, the washed material is dissolved in a sterile liquid to create a solution. This solution undergoes meticulous filtration through progressively finer filters, effectively removing unwanted impurities.
Step 5: Herbal Extract Integration At this stage, we have the option to add herbal extracts or minerals recognized for their health benefits. These extracts contribute to the overall properties of the resin.
Step 6: Dehumidification and paste formation following filtration and optional herbal extract incorporation, the filtered solution undergoes dehumidification and de-moisturization processes. These steps transform the solution into a resin or paste-like consistency.
Step 7: Packaging for distribution the refined resin or paste is then carefully placed into transport containers designed to shield it from external light and environmental factors. These containers maintain the quality and stability of the resin for distribution.
Step 8: Stringent quality testing before distribution, the resin undergoes thorough quality testing to ensure it meets predetermined standards. Tests are conducted to measure the concentration of lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and glycine, among other parameters.
Step 9: Individual glass container packaging upon successful testing, the resin is repackaged from transport containers into individual, opaque glass containers. These containers offer additional protection from light and external influences.

Beware of Shilajit Impostors: Safeguarding Your Purchase:
Caution: Don't be fooled by powdered shilajit! Most powders on the market contain a mere 2 to 30 percent shilajit, coupled with additives and fillers. These powders often undergo a standardized extraction process that claims consistency, using fulvic acid—similar to that used in fertilizers—to create a uniform percentage. However, it's crucial to note that natural substances like shilajit don't adhere to such standardization.

Ozokerite, often mistaken for shilajit due to its appearance, lacks the medicinal properties found in genuine shilajit. Some supplement companies resort to using ozokerite as a counterfeit product, while others unknowingly purchase it from wholesalers who misrepresent it as shilajit. The rise of social media platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram, has brought attention to numerous individuals and brands making bold claims about selling real shilajit. Given shilajit's scarcity, the source of these products raises legitimate concerns.

At AFGHANO, we advocate for discerning customers to exercise caution and conduct thorough research before making any purchase decisions. Many products on the market contain mere traces of authentic shilajit. Some are extracted from sedimentary rock formations, notably distinct from the genuine shilajit-bearing rocks. This results in significantly lower amounts of mineral pitch resin, naturally compromising the quality and potency of supplements that rely on it. Some unscrupulous manufacturers even go as far as adding additives like gums and clays, further diluting the potency of the shilajit.
It's essential to be vigilant in the pursuit of genuine shilajit, ensuring that the product's sourcing and processing methods align with the authenticity and potency you seek for optimal health benefits.

Shilajit, often referred to as 'the nectar of the gods,' is a rare and precious substance that has gained global recognition for its profound health benefits. However, its scarcity in the world adds an extra layer of significance to this unique resin.
Found in select mountainous regions, Shilajit is primarily harvested from remote areas such as the Himalayas, Altai, Caucasus, and notably, the pristine mountains of Badakhshan, Afghanistan. The scarcity of shilajit can be attributed to the specific geological conditions required for its formation. Over centuries, plant matter trapped in rocks undergoes a meticulous decomposition process, resulting in the creation of this extraordinary resin.

As a result of its limited geographical distribution and the intricate natural processes involved in its formation, genuine shilajit is a rare commodity. The careful extraction of this resin requires a deep understanding of the local ecosystems and a commitment to sustainable harvesting practices to preserve its purity and authenticity.
Shilajit's scarcity amplifies its value, making it a sought-after natural remedy. As consumers seek the authentic and unadulterated benefits of shilajit, understanding its rarity becomes crucial in distinguishing genuine products from diluted or counterfeit alternatives. At AFGHANO, we embrace the challenge of sourcing this scarce treasure responsibly, ensuring that every drop of our shilajit encapsulates the true essence of its origin, making it a truly exceptional addition to your wellness journey
